Reykjavik 101 Limited was established in late 2002. The Company started up providing life, accident and health reinsurance consulting services for several large companies. On 1st January 2005 the company was appointed the exclusive London correspondent for Zon Re (the accident reinsurance division of Mega Life and Health Insurance Company USA). Reykjavik101 has helped Zon Re develop it's international accident portfolio.

Zon Re is a leading market for accident reinsurance business. In April 2006 the Blackstone Group acquired UICI (Mega Life and Health's parent company and renamed it HealthMarkets. In June 2007 Zon Re started a business relationship with AIG for US /Canadian Accident reinsurance business.

2007 was a very successful year for Zon Re, its operating income grew 44 % to $ 7.9 million ( 20 %) on an earned premium revenue of $ 30 million (11%). The figures in brackets are the approximate international contribution .
